Chuck is the first Tribal citizen to lead the agency, which has been without a Senate confirmed leader for nearly five years. Chuck is a public servant with a wealth of experience in both local and national government, having worked as an aide to then-Senatorial candidate John McCain (R-AZ) and as Deputy Director for Cultural Affairs for the Salt Lake City Mayor?s office. As Director, Chuck will work to protect the nation?s most important natural resources, including parklands and national monuments, while also developing new programs that inspire public engagement and strengthen relationships between Americans and their federal government.
